I used to be a fan of Denny Hamlin's (while Smoke is my driver, I am a fan of multiple drivers). Then, Denny ticked me off a few times, and I decided he was "A Punk" on the track, and ceased being a Hamlin fan.
But, fan or not - I have to give him this: It seems The Guy THRIVES in The Face of Adversity:
- His Grandmother dies, and he obviously grieves her. So, he goes out and wins. It was an ugly win, he drove like a punk and wrecked a few guys in a nasty way, but he won.
- He has knee surgery, so he comes back to the track and wins.
- He is badly injured, misses four races, and has an ugly 2013 season - so he wins the last race of said season, Homestead.
- He is out a race due to metal in his eye, so he comes back next race, sets a new track record during practice, then takes second in qualifying......
Now, would all you whom say Denny as a 'fraidy cat explain this to me?
