im guessing sadler or vickers.
gibbs has put so much focus on his top level cup drivers driving the weak series of nascar that this is about all hes got to choose from.its too bad he hadnt been getting a new rookie, like wallace jr, in them very fast cars to have the experience to take on cup level.
We were discussing this yesterday, on some other threads, Tombo, and Waco and I felt that Elliot Sadler had dropped some hints on Race Hub that he was expecting the ride.
Vickers is an interesting idea. I think Gibbs won't try to put the young talent in too fast, let them ripen a bit, especially since both Elliot and Vickers showed a lot of good in the last temporary Sprint Cup stints.
This was just posted on jayski, "Sadler to run Sprint Cup race in 2013: Elliot Sadler is scheduled to run at least one un-named NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in 2013, running the #81 Alert Energy Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. This new energy product, was recently introduced by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. The scheme is purple, orange-and-yellow." which I take to mean that either Elliot is the front-runner, or is getting a compensation prize if he isn't chosen.
I think Joe is grooming DWJ in the right way. Bringing him up through the right series and giving him tastes of what the big boys have and what they are doing with it.
With all the talk about bringing drivers up too fast, I believe that Joe is on the right track with this kid.
