"And he's out of his car....."
Apparently, it meant something a bit different in 1991 than it does now, altho' the end results were the same - how would they call this today? - more dramatically, I expect.
Can't post links here, check youtube for " 1991 Valleydale Meats 500 - Sterling Marlin Hard Crash"-
The announcers' voices sound the same as today (is that Dale Jarrett?) -
But THIS "and he's out of his car" is just so different from what I'm used to by " and he's out of his car", today.....today, it usually isn't followed by, "and now he's crawling away"....- 2 Replies to JoanieReb

Sorry - Ned Jarrett - Dale Jarrett is in the race....I was following the youtubes on this race, it must have been an amazing one....lots of big-name wrecks (Dale, Terry LaBonte) - but the Sterling Marlin one, wholey-moley.....guess he was sidelined with burns for some time....

That was Bob Jenkins and Benny Parsons announcing with Ned Jarrett coming in a little later. Marlin actually got burned pretty badly on his face because of the open face helmet and had to have a relief driver the next few races
