The waiting is finally over as England take on France in their opening Euro 2012 game from Group D, together with Ukraine v Sweden.
It seems like the build up has been going on all year for this game, but the wait is finally over as new England boss Roy Hodgson takes his new look England side to the Donbass Arena in Donesk to face Laurent Blanc’s French outfit. England vs France live
Predictably, the bookmakers have made France the favourites for the game at a very back able price of 6/4, although there are plenty of pundits, fans and punters who are expecting good things from this England side, who have been written off before they have even kicked a football in anger.
Two solid victories in the warm up over Norway and Belgium, including two clean sheets has been a good start for Hodgson, although the French will be a much sterner test.
Of course, they must make do without Wayne Rooney who is serving a two match ban after his petulant sending off in the game with Montenegro, meaning much of the emphasis will probably fall on the shoulders of Danny Welbeck, with the Man Utd star 8/1 to score first with Paddy Power.
