They gave Dan Wheldon a very touching tribute. But they still haven't learned much from his death.
Times like Vegas last year should put a series into full on safety investigation and resulting rule changes.
But, as I watch the Indy 500, I see people in potentially fatal positions. One is the space between the inside front straight wall and the outside pit road wall.
The other is along the outside pit wall where officials are stationed ON pit road at intervals all the way from one end to the other.
I guess it will take a tragic accident to get their attention.
I sure hope not, though.-

At least it appears that the cars are safer.
