really? just checked weather.com for daytona beach. looks like it's going to stop at 12:30 then it's clear for the rest of the "next 6 hours". this was on their map feature. again stuff could pop up like it does in florida, but it looks like a lot of florida is getting wet, however daytona is staying dry.

One thing you're forgetting my dear sir is that after this solid batch of rain moves out (and weather.com is wrong saying it will be out of the area by 12:30....looking more like 2:30ish) it takes 2+ hours to dry the track. According to my radar and tracking the next solid batch of rain is about 2 hours after this current batch moves out and this next batch is much larger and longer taking the rain through the night and another low pressure moves in tomorrow mid morning. One thing I learned through storm tracking and weather forecasting in the past is NEVER trust weather.com. The Weather Channel has turned from a once reliable weather source to weather media with very little actual forecasting. Been this way since about 2003.

Daytona does have lights. A sunday night race for the Daytona 500 would be awesome.
