i see the caution blinking now, but there is no way to tell from the video where Ambrose was as opposed to the other 3 when you first see the caution light blinking at 3:02. NASCAR scores the finishes based on the GPS location from the transponder in each car, so i'm sure it's correct.

-R!mZ nascar is not using gps for scoring yet.
-nascar installed 6-20 scoring loops around the tracks that the transponders on the cars activate
-when the caution is waved the field is frozen and nascar goes back to the previous scoring loop to determine the restart order.
-if the caution comes out after the leader takes the white flag the finishing places are as they cross the finishing line or as close to the finishing line as they get if they are unable to cross the line.
-that's why nascar takes so long on - they have to review the tapes in the above case
