Scoring Question
I understand the idea of taking the lead without completing the lap but not under a caution where you can't pass. Everyone in front of him went to pit and on the next lap he came in but didn't get credit for leading a lap. Carpentier stayed out for 1 lap longer and got credit for leading a lap.
Perhaps this is a question for NASCAR.com-
If the leader crosses the start finish line (which stretches pit road also.) ahead of dinger he is scored as lap leader, and dinger would have to lead the next one. If his pit box is on the finish side of line then he could be passed before leading a lap. so there are ways to pass under caution.

Thanks! It doesn't give me 10 bonus points but at least the logic makes sense.
