    Track question for you

I did some homework and this is the average attendance for each track from last year and this year, and the number of dates each track has in parenthesis.

    Las Vegas (1): 150,000
    Bristol (2): 147,000
    Daytona (2): 145,000
    Charlotte (2): 140,000
    Indy (1): 140,000
    Talladega (2): 124,000
    Pocono (2): 105,000
    Michigan (2): 100,000
    Kansas (1): 100,000
    Richmond (2): 93,000
    Texas (2): 93,000
    New Hampshire (1): 91,000
    Watkins Glen (1): 90,000
    Infineon (1): 90,000
    Dover (2): 88,000
    Atlanta (2): 85,000
    California (2): 72,000
    Phoenix (2): 70,000
    Homestead (1): 70,000
    Darlington (1): 67.000
    Chicagoland (1): 67,000
    Martinsville (2): 50,000

Now I'm no rocket scientist but I see a problem here with a track like Martinsville that has a capacity of 90,000 only filling up 50% and getting 2 races. Meanwhile a track that triples that only gets 1 race a year.

If it were up to me, Martinsville, Phoenix, Cali, Atlanta, and maybe even Dover would go down to one race a piece. I'd give Las Vegas a 2nd date and spread out the rest to nationwide tracks like Kentucky and Iowa and tell them, you want a set yearly cup date.. bring the fans. If they do then they are rewarded with a race every year. Bring enough and they may even get 2 dates down the road. Ok the defense rests... lets hear the counter arguments :)
