I don't know man, she may not have blown up the stats in IRL but she's a consistent driver. Wins are really hard to come by since they only race 17-18 races with a 23 car field. She's got a lot of wheel time under her belt.

Technologically speaking, Nascar is a giant leap backwards for any open wheeler. No OBD, shitty wheels and tires, an engine that Fred Flinstone could have used, no aero characteristics. Nascar is really really slow compared to IRL. IRL makes 650bhp from a 3.5V8 in a car that at max weighs 1600lbs. Power to weight, that's double what the NNS cars do, in a chassis made to stick to the ground. Nascar is like driving a bus compared to, well, every other race car on the planet...

I think she'll do fine. She's not going to dethrone JJ or anything, but she's an established racer that brings sponsorship and a fan base. Both of which are good for the sport. Is it that she's older that people have a problem with her taking a ride from some booger picking teenager? Because Ricky Carmichael is 30 this year, and he's filling a ride in the truck series, not winning, that could be used for a developmental driver. Nobody has anything to say about that...and what about all the cup drivers moonlighting in NNS taking rides from 'deserving' drivers. Or is it because she's under the microscope as an assertive, established, self assured female and you all are paying too much attention to it?

Last point, and i'll let it rest...Juan is racing in DEI/EGR/ECR equipment. DP is rolling out with HMS backing. If there was ever a discrepancy in Nascar equipment, it would be between EGR and HMS. If she gets the feel of the car, she's definately, hands down, got the best mechanical support in the garage...at least over any other open wheel convert...

Also: MoToR will post his Danica-in-a-bathing-suit-and-heels-pretending-to-wash-a-car pics at least four times in the first two weeks....

Dannica may be the only one taking her transition to NASCAR seriously where the racing is concerned. Then again, she may not be taking it seriously at all where the racing is concerned....the money and exposure and attention could be the big draw for her here....who knows.

I DO wish thet Danica was more "woman-friendly". Instead of being as spokes-person and role-model for women in racing, she seems more concerned with being a sex-symbol and diva. I don't think the commercials where she says things like "while other girls were going to their proms, I was racing" empowers women in general.
