General Message Board
One of the most entertaining and original and funny sides of this board, when I first started reading it, was people's "multiple personalities". I'm talking about the stuff like Billy Mays, Mr. Mackey, Hall Monitor, and such. The ones thet people did well and without malice and were very, very funny.
Billy May's "w. kit" was a pee-your-pants Classic, and Mr. Mackey saying stuff to add to the board, geez, I always could jest hear it in his voice, and the Scooby Gang, and all...
The downside, tho, was the "alternates" thet were created to be malicious, and cause trouble. #2 here comes to mind.
I have been tempted to create an alternative ID many times. But each time, I have realized thet it was to say something thet I didn't feel comfortable saying myself. It's like, Mr. Mackey and Billy Mays are truly funny and entertain and add to getting their points across in a fun manner. When I cain do it like thet, I'll come up with a good alternative persona.
But, mostly, the times I have been tempted to create an alternative persona, I've asked myself - is this because I am not comfortable saying something in my own voice? In other words, am I thinking about making up another persona in order to mess with someone in a bad way, one thet I wouldn't do or say as "Joanie"? And, usually, the answer is "Yes", so I don't do it, it smacks of cowardice. If I ain't comfortable saying it as myself, I should not say it as someone else.
At the end of last season, there was a "coming out" thread, where people said who their "alternate identities" were, and it was delightful, to realize how funny and creative many people here are.
I think, if someone is going to make up an alternate persona, that person should ask him/her-self: Does this add to the board, or am I hiding - like a coward (#2?) behind an anonymous avatar and name in order to be hurtful and/or cause trouble. If the answer is the first - like Mr. Mackey and Billy Mays - thet it adds to the board, making contributions funnier and/or more to the point, go for it. But if it is The Coward's Way, Don't Do It.
Say what you have to say as yourself, if you are hiding as a coward behind thet alternate persona. At least then, people will respect you.
Sorry to lecture, thanks for listening.
Yeppers - break promises, lie, slander, harass, and threaten people - and just generally make a nuisance of yourself - reflections on your fine character & up-bringing - mommy & daddy must be So Proud!
BTW - you may have deleted your threats to me on this board, but I've saved copies of 'em.
Why don't you just start deleting your old posts instead of making endless new ones, if you want all your posts gone?
Better yet, KEEP YOUR PROMISE, and delete your account using the simple instructions you've been given repeatedly. It takes less than one minute.

WoW - two years ago - and, I'd probably say it half again - that was a Looooong post, LOL...
Yeah - I thought people might jump on the M E thing, it kinda made me chuckle. M E is a bud of mine for about 60 miles down the road - I have both he and Pritzi on my facebook. I wouldn't credit M E (which actually stands for something) with the ME ME ME thing....I have emails from both of them - one's comes from Michigan, the other's from Texas...
I just got a john deer push mower at Lowes, $600.00 bucks but it is worth it. Barely pull the cord to start it and plenty of power, smooth cutting, totally awsome . Everytime I buy a 300 mower it breaks three years later. It is better than the honda brans sold aT hOME dEPOT. yOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR
You all look way too much into the imping thing. These people don't care if they are respected, to them this is just a message board, nothing more, a place of fiction, where the real world doesn't have to come into play. I love that sort of spice personally, however some do take it to an extreme. But truthfully how can you all tell me that I am the fool, when you all spend so much time worrying about what people do on a message board or forum? Wake up folks, it was meant for things like this to happen and it will always be around. The ones who will truly lose out in the end are the ones that let this type of behavior get to them, not the ones who have this behavior. There is far more people in this world wanting to have fun at the expense of others then there is that want to maintain order.
I say worry about the real worlds problems and put forth the effort into the real worlds problems as you do out here in fantasy land, and maybe this wouldn't happen out here. The only way to defeat this is to stop it in the real world, before you will on a website with a bunch of typed letters.
Get over it and move on with your lives it is just fun and games, and more people will choose the fun and games aspect on the web then they will the serious aspect. Don't believe me? Just look at your coworkers habits, if they use a computer at work that is. I guarantee you that people that use the computer on a regular basis play games a hundred times more then they visit wikipedia or serious sites that can't relate to reality.

Dude..I am not sure she was talking about imping..she was talking about actual alternated profiles...see alot of us realize how this yahoo works so we have several profiles for different things..I have one for my fantasy sports, I have one for chatting here.. I have one that I correspond only with freinds and family and I have one for my business mail..
This is not imping...
now if I popped on the board calling myself JGP or Domina18n trying to get a rouse out of people by using your name..THAT IS IMPING..
