    Clint gets no love.

Daniel, you are very into statistics, and thet is quite helpful to a lot of people. Your ability with them is outstanding.

But if you go by "heart" and "intuition", there are reasons to leave Clint on the back-burner, and wait to use him until he and his team have become more "defined".

Since we cain only use a driver nine times, some of us look to use each driver according to his proven strengths - short-tracks, road courses, restrictor plate races, etc. It is also best to use a driver when he is "hot" - and when is team has it's chemistry working routinely and well.

Clint is still a developing as a driver and right now has a relatively "new" team thet is still gelling. I prefer to wait to use him until I know more of his (and his teams) strengths and weaknesses.

    • I didnt't say to put in him in your lineup.

But is he really deserving of 2%? I think not.

      Hear me out here.........

He has the longest active race finish streak of 76 and has only been in 109 cup races. He assumed this record after his teammate Kevin Harvick, who owned it previously, lost it at California. So what does this tell me? It tells me that:
      1) RCR engines are probably this most dependable out there- something that Yahoo users might be interested in after Vegas where Carl, Matt, JJ, and Martin all had engine issues (but yet all are on many more rosters). .
      2) Clints a racer- he can race on almost all kinds of tracks, never gets in over his head, people are comfortable racing with him, his racing style is well respected, and he is always there at the end.

So maybe not dominant, but he is certainly worth more than a 2% selection, oh did I mention he is 2nd in points right now with that team that is "gelling."

Being dependable and finishing in the top five will not give me or anyone else the highest point total at the end of the year. RCR might be somewhat dependable but the truth of the matter is they can't find that one step to take them to where they really want to be and that is winning more then being dependable. Being dependable is just a cop out for "we can't get the job done good enough to win". I agree Clint has a lot of talent he won the Nationwide series last year, but until one of those drivers step it up and actually win a Sprint Cup championship, I don't think you will be seeing too many people "showing their love".

      • damn skippy Dan.....Bowyer is a very consistent driver, and like you said never gets in over his head....you never see him overdrive his car trying to win, when he has a 5th place car. He's happy taking 5th.....

people are just overlooking him (including myself) the guy flies under the radar very well and is doing a great job, the entire 33 team is. Cant remember who said this, but they said something along the lines that he was more agressive in the 07 car......the fact he is offto his best start ever, with a brand new team no less, has me completely disagreeing with that statement.
