Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money". I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on an "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed. Just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need, the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
Truth be told this never happen to me... And I hope it never happens to you!
So, if you were McCain how would you distribute the $10 billion a month that is spent in Iraq??? Oh wait, you'll still be spending it in Iraq. Afterall, that's where all the weapons of mass destruction and the terrorsits are, right???

I have a question, people that are supported by the govt on welfare and or other forums of govt support..Should they be allowed to Vote? Think about how many people get support from the govt.
IMO they will only vote for the person that will better support them, not for the person who would be better for our country as a whole......
While I think that is pretty clever, being an ex server, bartender myself I wouldn't go back into that restaurant if I were you. Undoubtedly the server will remember you (we tend to have great memories as they are tested to the max every day), and you will receive a nice little gift in your food next time without your knowledge. If you don't care then so be it, but no doubt there will be something and all the employees will get a great laugh at your expense. Usually well worth the $10 bucks he didn't get. Goes around comes around. Who knows maybe your kidding.

Oh yeah, when I come back and get your come-upins.....remember i did nothing legally wrong.....
Did you? oh yeah maybe you'll see me at MY job....on the other side of the bars! lol
Remeber ......those who laugh..........well you get it!
I second the above.....
I don't let even my kids get "something for nothing". They have been taught that if they want something they must DO SOMETHING in return.... I will not take part in the enabling mentality of "something for nothing" because if you reward or incentivise bad behavior and poor decision making you just get more of the same in return...
I still believe that all men are created equal, and if you want to dip into my pocket, give me something in return... All people should be valued and have something to provide no matter how small.
If we truly want to curtail welfare and mismanagement of money, make the poor do community service or something in return....even the poor have value and should contribute to the public coffers that they pull from....
One day, I will give 5 bucks to a pan handler and ask him to do 20 push ups or 20 jumping jacks in return for my money and see how they react ;) I had to do something to get the money I'm "giving away" Give me something back !! SOMETHING...

We have shipped many good paying jobs right out of this country. I don't blame anyone....I blame everyone. Vote your heart for President, there is no other choice. I would ask everyone to consider firing everyone else. If we do this every election cycle, we might start the clean up. If they are in office vote for the new person. If they are only there a couple of years, they can't get too comfortable. Yes your congressman is the problem, so is mine.
