Paul Menard is out at DEI at the end of the season and off to Yates Racing. This is a big bonus for Yates, as this is a self financing deal. Additionally, DEI has only one sponsor in Bass Pro with the Army retreating from their agreement at the end of the year. Truex is signed only through next year and is more likely than not to leave the organization. That could well be the end of DEI.
Menard shouldnt even be racing, he has just enough talint to get himself in trouble, the only way he has the sponcer and any money is his daddy and his last name, i doubt hed have any sponcer at all if it wasnt for that
Yates would like to get to a four car team, but has to secure sponsorship. Menard is a bonus because he is self financing. It is yet to be seen if he will be add to the roster or will replace Gilliland or Kvapil.
menard has had glimpses of a great driver and all it takes sometimes is to switch manufacturers. look at kyle busch. sure this last few races have sucked for him and his crew.
it is not like gilliland and kvapil are burning the track up. even tho those two are good young guys.
Can't say it's a great pickup for Yates though....I would rather have seen them pickup AJ... They must be looking for a chevy driver :(
Menard has always been a ho hum driver, middle of the pack and a few flashes here and there..IMO Maybe he'll run better with Yates :D nothing against him, but I think even Reed Sorenson has more potential, he ran well last yr and has imploded with Ganassi this year...looked like a lot of potential last year...But, the Dodges just haven't come around..Tim will tell I suppose..
