Got any ideas for a sleeper in Sonoma? It's not an easy pick because it's a road course - and some of the big time drivers don't do so well there....
Got an idea? Got a feelin?
I'm betting Bobby Labonte get's his first top 10 of the season.
I'm also thinking AJ Allmendinger gets a top 4 starting spot and nets his first top 10.
160 (B. Said)
last year at sonoma with the COT this was the top 20
8. Ky Busch
12. PJ Jones
13. Earnhardt Jr
first four starting positions were
2. Robby Gordon
3. Earnhardt Jr
anyone listed isn't a dark horse. a dark horse would be ambrose, papis, simo, pruett, yeley, almirola, ash or mcdowell.
ones that have to qualify. 47 entered so 4 go home.
Brandon Ash in the #02
Carpentier in the #10
Ambrose in the #21
Simo in the #34
Francitti in the #40
Said in the #60
Papis in the #66
Riggs in the #70
Nemechek in the # 78
Allmendinger in the 84
Yeley in the # 96
terry labonte gets a provisional and that would definately be a dark horse.

Your right on both counts Carpentier started in the IRL then went onto Champ. The reason he's in Nascar now is in both those leagues he did very well when they raced oval tracks.
I have to pick him and Fellows just to root for fellow Canadians. Heck living in Canada not too many of us can say we know a Nascar driver. I grew up in Burlington Ontario with Fellows, I remember when he used to race in the Trans Am series mid 80's. He used his race car as a daily driver in town, sponer decals and all. Then on the weekends put the race tires on for the actual race. Those where factory stock cars with a cage and safety equipment, and a couple of other slight mods.
I agree with you 110%. CarPonTiYay will have a great finish if he can keep it on the track. He's in NASCAR's top division for a reason. Sonoma may be just what the doctor ordered for him to start a strong comeback on the last 1/2 of the season.
IF he can keep it on the track.
