Thanks. A lot of what you said really makes sense. It's basically Sullinger vs Barnes. Anyone else?
It's hard to compete with the 1st place team in rebounds, so I'd want to give blocks a bump. But maybe that makes Barnes more important to contribute to all the other categories?
I'm also hesitant because Sullinger has been great for stretches. He still has to share with Humphries, Bass, and Olynyk, but he should start. I might need 6 PF/C's to match the 5 better bigs on the other teams. The Celtics should give Sullinger a lot of late season run to preview the youth for next season.
But, Barnes has been hot and he might get scooped up soon if I don't. While Crawford's return is a concern, he's safer at his position. He's better than Dudley and Granger. I'm just not sure how much he'll level off.
Well with Lawson, Lowry, Conley, Bledsoe and Augustin I'd definitely rule out Farmar. Adding 5th PG doesn't make sense to me.
And with Davis, Drummond, Hibbert, Hawes and Vucevic for your bigs, I'm not sure you need a 6th PF/C.
Martin and Ariza as your only SG/SF's isn't much depth, so adding Barnes makes sense.
If Barnes were to keep up his current production for the rest of the season, he'd be a perfect 3rd SG/SF for your roster. But you also have to remember most of his latest production has come without Jamal Crawford in the lineup. I know they don't play the same position, but Crawford takes a good amount of shots and has the ball in his hands a lot so I wouldn't be surprised if he takes away from some of Barnes' value when he returns.
But with your nice depth at PG and PF/C I'd probably take the chance that he keeps most of his value even when Crawford returns.
If you take Barnes and he stays hot, I think you have a VERY good chance at winning it all with that roster. I tend to build my teams around PG's and C's too so I am a little biased but your team looks really good on paper. If SG/SF is the weakest part of your team but you still have K-Mart, Ariza and Barnes, that's pretty nice!
Does your league have a trade deadline? If so has it passed yet? If not I'd try to trade Sullinger and Augustin for a legit SG/SF.
