Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Paul George (SG,SF) Ranked 10th
Wes Matthews (SG,SF) ranked 55th
Kyle Korver (SG,SF) ranked 43rd
Andrew Bogut (C) ranked 107th OR Kosta Koufos (PF,C) ranked 86th
Is this trade just not even nearly enough to get George? When I was trying to come up with an offer, looking at the stats, rankings, and team needs for both this year and beyond (16 team h-2-h Keeper league) this offer actually seemed pretty legit. The guy with George has droppable players and could use Bogut's rebs/blks and Matthews and Korver's pts/3's/steals.
But then when I actually look at it from a real life point of view it doesn't look very good at all.
I'm guessing this is an instant reject. But would anyone look beyong the names and consider making this move if it helped their chances of winning a championship THIS year, and settled for a downgrade of a keeper from George to Matthews?
Ranking doesn't mean much unless you're looking at the most recent 2-4 weeks ranking. I would rather have George with 2 #$%$ players than the trade bc what you're offering are 3rd to 4th option in offense for their respective teams so the stats they put up might not even add up to George with 2 #$%$ players.
From the looks of it, the guy who has George is better off than having Matthews and Korver, mostly because George's stats total are better than both those guys combined except points and 3PTM. That's all Matthews and Korver are, 3-point shooters. Matthews has good scoring, but he's not a premiere player. It would be better to have George in the lineup and have a reg guy alongside him adding stats than those 2 guys. And, I don't think Bogut or Koufos bring anything to the table really.
I would rather have George. He is a keeper and Matthews is not.

Thanks. I agree that the trade offer isn't very appealing. I just wanted to get some other opinions on it... But I would disagree with a couple things you said. Matthews is more than just a 3 point shooter. His steals, %'s and assists make him a little more well rounded than just a 3 point specialist, obviously nothing compared to P George, but he provides in more than 1 category.... And a team hurting for rebs and blks might find Bogut interesting since he's basically averaging 10 rebs and 2 blks per game the last 2 weeks.. So in a 16 team league I think Matthews has more keeper value than you think, but I would definitely agree with everything else you said.
Me also, but he should at least try to trade for him, there is nothing to lose here.
Another guy to target could be Batum because of his wrist problems which made his value drop - with the hope that he will be healthy in the future. Of course Batum is also more valuable than those boys but who knows what the owner thinks of all this (and that applies to George's owner as well).
