    Derozan's value?

CWizzle I think this is the first time I have ever disagreed with you. Derozan is a stud. Top scoring SG/SF out there, only behind I would say Harden, Kobe, Wade, Melo, and maybe Joe Johnson. If I'm you Im targeting a Pau Gasol, or anyone on another managers team who is trying to improve in points. Don't sell low for a F/A or bench type player like he listed (Kaman, JT, Mullens, Pek) Id try to get the main rebounder on a team out of derozan and nothing less.

    • Haha, hey we can't always agree on everything right? I just have a hard time valuing a player so high who doesn't contribute significantly in more than 2 categories. There is no doubt that Derozan is a scorer. But for a big time scorer, I'd like to see him either average 1 or more 3's per game, or have mid 80's or higher FT%. Without either his value, in my eyes, goes down. So since he doesn't hit many 3's or have FT% enough to make a big difference, it'd be nice if he could rake up 3 or more assists, but he doesn't even average 2.0. IF your league counts A/TO instead of TO's (like a lot of leauges are starting to do), then those low assists hurt you in both assists and A/TO. So next I'd say, maybe I could overlook that if he was a great rebounder. 5 Rebs a game isn't bad at all for a guard, but to me it's not enough to make up for the lack of stats in other categories, and 5 is actually a career high average for him so who knows if that will last, especially with Amir and Davis getting more minutes with Bargnani out (both guys are much better rebounders than Bargs). The 1 steal per game is nice, but doesn't make up for the lack of stats in all those other areas.
But like I try to say a lot, this is just my PERSONAL opinion, and if somebody else, or everyone else diasgrees that is fine. I just like to point out how I look at things, to give somebody a different perspective.
As far as SG's go, I'd honestly rather have someone putting up numbers like JR Smith. Not neccessarily him since Iman SHumpert and Amare might cut into his production, but even though he averaged about 4 PPG less than Derozan, he gives same rebounds, more 3's assists, similar steals and better FT%.
But I like your idea of targeting Gasol.
But main rebounder from a team and nothing less? Would you give up Randolph, Love, Varejao, Lee, Noah, Horford, Jefferson, etc for Derozan? I know I wouldn't.

    • good advice, and I have Paul Gasol.
