So let me get this straight pids

You say Rondo is better in an 8 cat league with no TO's, but Kidd is better in a 9 cat league?

So you are saying that the extra 2.7 TO's that Rondo gets a game all of a sudden makes
    him less valuable than Kidd?

If you base someone being better or worse than another player due to 2.7 TO's per game, then I just have to assume you don't win often, or at all.

    • You guys are forgetting that the rankings don't take into account the age/wisdom factor. Kidd is older than Rondo, therfore is immediately better than him in all fantasy formats.
Yahoo doesn't want to let you in on this little known secret. Honestly, I used to think like you guys, and would try to fill my teams with young studs like Lebron, Durant, CP3 etc. But this is the first year that someone told me about the age to wisdom ratio.
It's a little too early to tell, but I think it's going to work! Here is my squad:

      PG: Nash
      SG: Kidd
      G: Prigioni
      SF: Grant Hill
      PF:Rasheed Wallace
      F:Jerry Stackhouse
      C: Kurt Thomas
      C: Marcus Camby
      Util: Fisher

C'mon, did you see those couple 3 pointers Sheed made? He's obviously a re-born allstar this year! And I've been getting pretty damn excited since I heard the news that Ben Wallace wants to come back!! Any tips on which one of my studs I should drop for Big Ben?

    • HOOP, maybe I am wrong, but I guess PIDS was just trying to explan why Kidd is ranked higher than Rondo in the Yahoo system, and no way could we argue against the math behind it since it is what it is. I guess PIDS never tries to make a point saying that is the most perfect ranking system that ever exists, and would automatically lead to winning if all of us play fantasy based on it. Sorry if I am wrong.

    • Clearly a few weeks of good statistical performance means that someone is and always will be an elite player. Just look at Eddie Curry, or Jerome James after that one good playoff run he had with the Sonics. Or Aaron Brooks after he ran up some decent numbers for a few weeks in Houston. He's been an all-star ever since right? You know who is gonna be an elite SF? 2006 Bonzi Wells, that's who.
If you just look at these players as data points spitting out numbers then you are completely missing the point of fantasy basketball, real basketball and how to use statistical information. Stats inform your decisions here and help you recognize patterns within a wider set of influence that impact them. They are measured responses to influences. If you don't understand the influences and just focus on the response the game will always elude you.
That said, you gotta be crazy to think that Kidd is better than Rondo. Ca-ray-zee!

    • DUH pids logic totally makes sense HOOPman.. I mean afterall Jkidd is better than Rondo, Kyrie Irving, and even Westbrook, get with it bro..

    • I wonder if Kidd is better than CP3...
