Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
BIG TRADE!! PLEASE HELP!! HELP ME, ILL HELP YOU!
I give: Parsons, Gortat, Calderon
I get: Westbrook
Potential drops from he side: Billups, Korver, Dunleavy, Pargo, Bass
Waiver: Eric Gordon (too early too stash?), Nick Young, Vince Carter, Dorell Wright, Jerrett Jack, Beal
My team: 14 team/ h2h/ 9 cat/ 5th pick overall
PG: Wall, CP3, Calerdon
SG: J.Rich, E.Turner
SF: Parsons, Gallinari
PF: Love, BabyDavis
C: Monroe, Pekovic, Gortat
I wouldn't do that trade. Once Wall returns you should be pretty set at PG. He and CP3 are a good pair, and Calderon will give respectable numbers even with Lowry healthy, and if Lowry goes down again, Calderon becomes much more valueable.
But if you make the trade, even though you'll have great depth at PG, you'll be relying on just Gallo at SF, along with Monroe and Pek as your centers. I love Monroe, and Pek is pretty good, but neither of them are big time shot blockers, so even though Gortat is in a slump I'd stick with him. Jermaine Oneal will almost garunteed either get hurt or cool off drastically soon.
It is also a bad time to trade Gortat. If you don't want him, wait until he gets out of his slump and puts up a couple good games in a row and you should be able to get more value for him.
I don't think this trade is that bad value-wise, I just think it hurts your team more than it helps. My best advice would be to try to stay patient with Gortat and Wall.

This is very insightful, thank you so much!! now this leads me to asking, what if i switch monroe for gortat? i think monroe is a better overall value than gortat, but i need gortat more than monroe right? since i dont need the asists from monroe, and also monroe has a lot of TO which will turn over (no pun intended) to westbrooks TO. thoughts? the trade now might just be monroe and parsons for westbrook.
