That is #$%$. that they veto'd this trade. Sure, Elton Brand will get starter's minutes while Dirk is out. But that is only a small portion of the season. Once Dirk gets back Brand will still be in the rotation, but if Dirk and Kaman stay healthy his fantasy value will be limited. But you can't veto a trade on the assumption that somebody else will get hurt, no matter how injury prone they are (Kaman).
Miller is getting old and Lawson will have the majority of the PG minutes, but like last year, they have shown that at times they can both be on the court at the same time. And even in a limited role, Miller could still rack up the assists, especially compared to almost every other backup PG.
So even though Brand might have a good amount more value for a few weeks, and a little bit more value for the whole season, this is NOT a vetoable trade.
It's basically trading an old backup PF/C for an old backup PG.
I would post the link to this thread on the message board of your league, and ask them to respond to these statements against the veto.
A veto should only be used if 1) there is collusion/cheating (two teams working together) or 2) A trade is so lopsided that it will effect the outcome of the entire league (example: Elton Brand for Kevin Durant and Chris Paul). Other than that, let the trades through. There are very very rarely trades that are exactly 50-50. Most trades have a winner and a loser as far as face value goes, but that doesn't mean it should get veto'd.
