Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Truth is, I really dont know much about the NBA or its players. Since my Sonics were relocated, I havent much cared about the sport but am trying to get back into it this year. I will be drafting again later today so ANY constructive feedback on this draft will be very helpful. This was a H2H 8 team league with standard scoring categories. Here was my draft:
1. Dwyane Wade (Mia - PG,SG)
2. Pau Gasol (LAL - PF,C)
3. Danny Granger (Ind - SF,PF)
4. Zach Randolph (Mem - PF,C)
5. Chris Bosh (Mia - PF,C)
6. Jrue Holiday (Phi - PG)
7. Kevin Garnett (Bos - PF)
8. Carlos Boozer (Chi - PF,C)
9. Kyrie Irving (Cle - PG)
10. Andrea Bargnani (Tor - PF,C)
11. Jason Terry (Dal - PG,SG)
12. Jimmer Fredette (Sac - PG,SG)
13. J.R. Smith (Den - SG,SF)
1st of all, don't listen to Joseph. He says you are strong in blocks, (because you have big guys??) but Pau and Granger are probably your 2 best blockers. Then he says to drop Bargs and Boozer? No way. Also in an 8 team league where there is a ton of talent in the FA pool usually, I would not really be taking a chance on Jimmer quite yet. Nobody knows his role in Sactown quite yet and there has to be a more proven player in the FA pool. Irving probably has a better chance of starting to produce faster, but still I'd pick a decent already proven PG over him.
I would try to trade a couple of your big guys who can't block shots for 1 allstar center who can. Or for an elite PG.
Definitely drop JR Smith for hte best available rebounding/blocking center or assist/steal PG.
Let's dissect this one at a time . . .
In a H2H 8 team means that all of you have good players (compared to a team of 15). Generally you have a good team.
Now, the strengths of your team is pts, reb, blk (just bec you have a lot of PF's and C's). Not bad. But since this is a H2H the other stats will be affected specifically ast, stl and 3's.
My suggestion is you trade or pick players that are left that will boost ast, stl and 3's. In an 8 team there are bound to have good PG's,G's, or SF's left. Trade or drop players like Bargnani and Boozer. (I chose them bec of the PF's and C's you have, they're the weakest). Also, drop Smith.
Good pick on the rookies Irving and Fredette.
Other than that, your team looks good. :D
