In a KEEPER league, which side wins?
Side A: Jameer Nelson and a 2nd Rd Pick
Side B: Jason Kidd and a 1st Rd Pick (could be top 5 pick)
*This league has 10 teams and each team can keep 8 of their 15 players at season's end.
Kidd and 1st round because Nelson when at his best isn't a great great fantasy player. I am value a lot on the top give pick on Kidds side. Kidd no matter what gives you tons of ast and reb and a top five pick should land you some goodies as well
Yeah dude. I have very much appreciated your opinion. Thank you for the specifics you give in your answers. I'm just havin' an extremely hard time choosing. Kidd for $150 or Jameer for the future..... hard choice :P
well its your call so its upto you on what you want.. i already gave you my opinion about your issue & its upto you on whether it is enough to change your mind on taking kidd or not at all...
i would likely go with side A for now..
being said from previous poster that it might likely not much difference between drafting someone from 1st round or 2nd round when the talent level is difficult to analyze make the trade of draft picks pretty even... well the valueof the picks still depends on the teams involved if the team getting 1st round pick has a great record & the team getting 2nd round pick has a bad record....
for a keeper league, i would rather take jameer over jason since kidd might have a few years left... kidd is still a solid player to have providing cats in assists, blks, rebounds, steals, 3's... but jameer is a rising star with his breakout performance this year providing solid numbers in ft% & fg%, pts, assists, 3's, stls....
its a tough call for you, would you rather go with youth & uncertainty if jameer is a 1hit wonder, or would you go with a proven vet that may have a few years left????

i can see the reason on why you are shopping jameer away.. it is likely you are trying to win your league & having an injured guy on your team could stop you from winning your league...
still i would go with the jameer side since jameer has alot of upside over kidd....
jameer has alot of talented teammates around him to play with, which also could help progress in his game... only downside with him is what he will be like next season after rehabbing his shoulder...
kidd on the other hand is going is going to be a free agent this season... his next destination/style-of-offense-of-new-team could determine whether his will be productive or not.. just look at shawn marion's situation from last year up until now...
i don't play in keeper leagues but i'd take kidd over nelson any day. the only category he hurts you in is pts. is there really a huge difference between a first round and second round pick when the top 80 players are already taken?

Well, yeah, there can be a huge difference.... players like, arenas, a. miller, brad miller..... etc... Not to mention that the entire draft class would be available and a 1st Rd pick could potentially equate to the 1st pick in the NBA Draft.
I'd be getting Kidd in this trade.... I'm competing for the win and $150 dollars..... but Kidd is like 10 years older and probably would not be a keeper for me.... Nelson would be (though I could keep Session or N. Robinson instead).
