I don't think i'd make the trade.
First Rudy Gay isn't playing how he should right now and so you might be selling him low. Its not like Baron Davis is playing at where he should be either.
Chris Paul is a fantasy stud. Good %'s, the occasional 3, 3 SPG, 5 BPG, 11 APG, 20+ ppg. #1 ranked avg stats.
I would tkae him over Howard. Yeah he'll pretty much almost win you blks alone, but his FT% and TO's are going to be killers.
BTW, what do you think of Marion as a buy low option.
To be honest i've never really like Marion. But since he's doing really bad right now, i may be able to grab him at a low cost and get help in my front court without hurting the rest of my roster.
You think his numbers will get a little better and consistent?
this is now my team:
I made some recent trades ... I gave away parker/duncan for Randolf/Nelson ... probably a bonehead trade ... but it think my team is even more balanced.

I don't think it was a good move on your part. Nelson is playing well but guys like Westbrook are providing his type of stats. You gave up a solid C that provides the rebounding and scoring that Randolph provides and gives you blocks with it. I don't mind Randolph but he doesn't block a shot, just helps with a few categories, scoring and rebounding. Your team is well balanced but I think it needs a solid C (shot blocker). See if you can Harrington for Bynum. Harrington is playing well but you got guys like Lewis and Peja to get your 3s. If not Harrington then try to make some other trade for a solid/blocking C.
for sure i think im in a similar boat as you as i just offered Jamison for Brand strait up. I don't think he'll take it but its worth a try. A lot of trading is trial and error. I sent Marion for Brand and that got rejected right away so now I'm trying with Jamison. But i think we both agree that this is a perfect time to buy low on him so lets both hope for the best if we land him!
