Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
A manager in my league accepted a trade of LBJ and JR Smith for Amare Stoudemire and Iggy. Now he says he did not mean to accept the trade and that he wants his players back. is it my discretion to keep the trade as is or am i obliged to give him back his players. In order to accept a trade you have to confirm your acceptance which i told him in an e-mail. I would like to hear people's thoughts about this subject please
people shouldn't even be offering trades like that. How do you justify a trade that involves 1 first rounder and someone who is going to be hanging around the waiver wire all year, and a first and third rounder? I'd give it back before nobody feels like playing anymore.
I e-mailed the manager and told him i would send him back Iggy for Jr Smith and Ben Gordon. Does this make the trade now even though I do not necessarily have to send him anything back. The trade would have looked like this now.
LBJ for Amare and Ben Gordon.
I think you got to take people at their words. I have very nearly accepted trades that I didn't want to accept before. As long as he pretty quickly notified everyone, I think it should be rescinded. The players haven't changed hands and the season hasn't even started. Nobody wants to start the season off getting screwed out of two of their best players. Sure it's for LBJ, but as the other poster noted, that trade is lopsided. Iggy and Amare blow LBJ and JR Smith out of the water.
Lastly, if you honestly made that mistake, you'd want to call it back as well.
Give the guy a break. Just my opinion. This is supposed to be fun.
