    Houston DEF droppable for Minnesota?

I only have 5 bench spots in my league so I don't have much choice. I want a win this week. Houston lost Brian Cushing and didn't look impressive against the Jets or the Packers. Other than Buffalo and Jacksonville, they have a tough schedule ahead with Baltimore and Chicago looming. They were having a relatively good year, but they were feasting on teams like Tennessee and Miami, and the only real play maker right now is JJ Watt. Am I right or wrong?

    • Playing the matchups week-to-week is always a great option IMO. I did it all last year and it worked well for me. As long as there are enough FA defenses to choose from each week, I would do it.

    • Short term, absolutely. If your looking to win this week then Minnesota is your D. But after that i wouldn't trust them as much. I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but lately(after philly d blew up in my face) ive been going week by week seeing which d's are available and what matchups i like. Im in a 10 team league so theres almost always a decent option, good for 7 or 8 points. But yeah, id go minnesota over houston this week

      • Thanks for your input. Yeah, I'm in the same situation as you. 10 teamer, Houston was working out ok though. I'm 5-1 so right now I'm trying to position myself for the playoffs. I want to win to grab the #1 or 2 seeds, which get a first round bye in the playoffs. Looking down the road, Houston plays @NE during my league's playoffs, so they'd def be useless there. Indianapolis and Minnesota at home are OK matchups, but Luck is looking quite good this year (minus last week against the revived Jets) and Minnesota has some potent offensive weapons. I'm thinking I'll do what I did last year (and what you're doing) and just play each week by ear.
