Who to Start Message Board
I'm in desperate need of a win. I had the second highest score in my league last week, but my opponent had Gates and beat me by 2 points Monday. (figures…) Now it's the home stretch, and I need to get on a win streak...
I've been surfing the waiver wire for receivers this week, as my QB, RB and TE situations are great. But my WR's have been 'eh' this season.
Here's who I've got, which three do I start?
Miles Austin vs. Sea
Antonio Brown vs. Bal
Nate Washington vs. Cinci
Victor Cruz vs NE
Michael Crabtree vs Wash
I'm thinking Austin, Cruz and Crabtree based on matchups… but I really dig Antonio Brown right now and don't really want to bench him… But the Pitt/Balti matchup always scares me.
Also, TE opinion please! Ballad vs NE or Celek vs Chi??? Both are hot hot hot right now...
I would go Cruz for sure and it's a toss up for the other 2 between Brown, Austin & Crabtree. Austin has been terrible over the last 3 weeks and he had 2 favorable matchups against NE & STL.
I might go with Brown for WR2 if Ward doesn't go just because he's been hot over the last 2 weeks, especially if your league gives points for return yardage. Then flip a coin between Austin & Crabtree.
As for the TEs definitely go with Celek the Bears are terrible covering good TEs. New England is much better at TE coverage.
Those three you listed should be fine. Cruz is a must-start if Nicks doesn't play, otherwise he is merely the best option. As far as the tight ends go, Celek has the better matchup potentially as TEs have been killing the Bears (most points given up to TE, depending on the scoring system). The only downside is if they use Celek as a pass blocker. But I would personally roll the dice.
Being from Pittsburgh I can tell you right now, Brown will be highly active in this game against Baltimore.
Wallace will probably be shadowed all game, might have about 80-90 yards. But with Brown's ability to cut under and find an open spot, he could possibly have a big game. Plus he's Ben's 2nd favorite WR to throw to.
TE wise, if I had to pick, I would start Ballard. If you can, try to see who else is available. I have Gonzo and F. Davis lol
