    Start Philosophy

I'm new to fantasy football, having just drafted my first team in a 8 man H2H league. Everything is going well, except that matchups seem to matter much more in football as opposed to other sports; prompting the question- is it better to start a better player with a worse matchup or a worse player in a better matchup?

For example, I have Ray Rice starting the first week in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers had the best run defence in the league last year. My other RB slot is occupied by Steven
Jackson, with Cedric Benson and Ahmad Bradshaw on the bench. Would it be better to start Ray Rice, or one of the bench RB's with better matchups?
