I am the Commissioner of a 12-Team Head to Head Keeper League. This year, we had a new manager take over one of the teams. From the start, this manager appeared not to know what he was doing. For example, he dropped Aramis Ramirez when he got injured when he had a DL spot available. This drop was reverted for lack of knowledge as a one-time exception and no other manager complained.
Last Friday I wrote to the new manager because it seemed he was not going to reach our 40 Innings Pitched requirement. He went on to drop Mark Texeira and Jared Weaver (both currently in his DL) and pick some other pitchers. After discussing the issue with the new manager and questioning his moves, he told me he did not have time to manage his team and that we should get a substitute manager.
Now, Mark Texeira and Jared Weaver went to waivers and picked up by 2 other teams using FAAB. The substitute manager is requesting that these moves be reverted since they were made the day before he took over the team. I understand that the drops and subsequent FAAB Bids and pick-ups should stand since there was no collusion involved and were made in good faith.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? SHOULD TEXEIRA AND WEAVER BE PLACED AGAIN IN THE SUBSTITUTE MANAGER’S TEAM OR SHOULD THE WAIVER PICK-UPS STAND?
P.S./FYI/BTW: Weaver ended up in my team since I was the highest bidder. Does this fact make a difference since EVERY team was able to bid on him?
