Commissioner Corner Message Board
-
Seems that every winter, at least one person 'in the know' leaks what is new for the upcoming season. Well, ....I'm waiting. Ha!
I've asked for an increase from the 5 DL spots and for a setting in the Commissioner's Tools that would lock a player into a team's roster for a minimum of "X' amount of days.
I don't expect to see either of the requests honored. I would be surprised if the request was ever read. The peeps behind the scenes are probably busy trying to come up with something that can be sold to generate dollars like the .... 'Pay us a fee and we will approve or not approve your league's trades'.
That Commish setting thing? That would do away with the streaming problems some leagues face...OR...if your league doesn't mind the streaming, the setting can be set to "1 day". In my leagues, we use a 'Three-Day Rule' that requires an acquired player to appear on that team's roster for 3 days before he can be dropped. Example? Pickup a particular player on Monday, he will first appear on that team's roster on Tuesday. He must appear on the Tues-Wed-Thurs roster for that team. That player can be dropped on Thursday because he will not come off the roster until Friday anyway. The problem is...I have to police the transactions list. On rare occasion, I do find one that slipped by. I return the players to where they came from and the 3 days are restarted.-

One idea I had and communicated to Yahoo was to allow for 3 team trades. Not common in your standard league but in my dynasty league it came up twice last year. Hope that happens.

In my dynasty league I had a four teamer that at times was up to six teams. Took around six straight hours to hammer out. While it would be a cool option to have it comes up so rarely that I rather they look into adding features that would be far more helpful first.

That's a great idea. In year's past we've had to baby our way through deals when involving more than two teams. It's tough to get everybody on board when only two people can see part of the deal.

what is new that is huge for my league is they finally enabled players to be on waivers at all times. that way FAAB actually works with all unowned players as it was designed too. in the past it just worked with players that were dropped from teams, therefore it barely came into play.
now commish can select specific days of the week where faab runs, completely eliminating first come first serve in terms of moves.- View Replies

I thought the same thing so I actually used this format in my keeper basketball league. I figured if it worked there I'd use the FAAB/rolling waivers in my keeper baseball league.
It was terrible!
Everyone hated it (even though the league agreed on it before the draft). It killed interest in the basketball league. I won't be using it for baseball and would advise against anyone else using it as well. -

Yes, agree, this could be a "game changer" since the unemployed bum who sits on his computer 24/7 will no longer have an advantage of snagging players at 2am while others are sleeping or working. Gives all managers equal change on all players.

i understand this to be true (daily waivers - faab) and a very welcome addition.

Stop streaming by limiting the amount of moves in a week.

If you don't like streaming then don't play in Head-to-Head leagues. Real fantasy baseball uses the roto format. H2H is for fantasy football. They added in H2H baseball leagues to make is easy for fantasy football players to transition into fantasy baseball. H2H just doesn't work well in baseball. Roto is much more fun and much more fair and luck is much less of a factor.

I would like to see an option to choose 1 week for Final in playoffs instead of the required 2 weeks. Too many guys on sit out or get "scratched" in those games b/c teams out of the playoffs pack it in early. If your match head to head is 1 week all season it's dumb to have it changed just for one week. Especially with you have min innings required and that doesn't adjust accordingly
