...If you're looking for a highly competitive, deep, nuanced fantasy baseball league, check out mine: 20 teams -- only four of which make the playoffs, and 12 x 12 scoring that accurately simulates real baseball. As for pitching, in this league, you have to have long relievers and they help you win -- just like real baseball. But starters are still the backbone of your pitching. The great thing is that the league is so deep, and there so many starting positions available that streaming pitchers becomes counterproductive. If you try to load up on strikeouts, innings pitched, wins, etc. by streaming pitchers, the pitcher you get is going to be so mediocre and on such a bad team that he is going to kill you on ERA, Whip, losses, etc.

And hitting is just as deep. Aren’t you tired of stolen bases being so wildly over-rewarded in the fantasy game? In this league they are in their proper place at 8% of hitting and 4% of your team—instead of 20% of hitting in standard 5 X 5 leagues.

Aren’t you bored with 12 team leagues where everyone has a half-dozen all-stars in their lineup?! How do you demonstrate your superior knowledge when everyone can plug in a star at most of the positions? A 20-team league forces managers to play part-timers and very mediocre players—just like a real MLB manager. You have to know baseball and all the players to excel in a 20-team league.

Anyone who is active is welcome to join. I have a couple of requests for all of you, though: make a commitment to participate in most of the live draft, which will be Thursday, March 17 at 7 AM Los Angeles time/10 AM East Coast time -- I know this might be impossible for some of you, so it's not a dealbreaker; Secondly, and most importantly, make a commitment to manage your team for the entire year -- that means moving players in and out of the lineup every day of the year -- depending on whether or not they have a game that day. This is the most vital rule! I don't care if you make trades or add or drop players -- but players who are injured long-term, should probably be dropped unless they are stars. (Unfortunately, I will not allow teams to join if the manager has a spotty record of making daily substitutions in his lineup.)
