  • Re: Preventing Abuse of Pitching Stats

I like the idea of stats preventing streaming. With your setup, L's offset the W stat, but there is nothing to offset the QS stat. Because the stats (W, L, K, BS) give streamers the upper hand, streaming is the smart play. If you change the settings to reflect percentages and averages (K/9IP, Winning Pct, QS%) it might help, but you'd have to raise (yes raise) the minimum IP to prevent sitters. (Sitters=opposite of streamers. Guys who have a good pitching day early in the week, then bench their staffs to win the week. Say CJ Wilson has a great pitching day then Neftali comes in, strikes out the side and gets a save. K/9, Ls, %, WHIP, and ERA would all be won by the "sitter")

You have to find the middle ground to where it pays off to draft a solid pitching staff, and actually compete without streaming.
