Does anyone have an explanation for why Yahoo would place Team A below Team B although they have identical Winning Percentages and Team A has a better Winning Percentage in the final week, Week 22?
This outcome contradicts the official playoff tiebreaker system.
This is a head to head league, but not point based.
Someone please enlighten me.
It's possible that team A had a better winning percentage, but finished below team B.
If both teams have a winning percentage above .600....
Due to ties, team B could have 6 more wins AND 4 more losses than team A. Team B is ahead by 1 game, but team B has LOWER winning percentage.
If you could post a link to your league, or copy and paste the standings into here, i could figure out what happened.
What was your total winning record when you two faced off in the regular season? Whoever has the winning record wins the tie-break. After that, if you're still tied, it goes by the win-loss record for each week.
As I understand it in Head to head leagues, First tie breaker is winning percentage in the regular season against the team you are playing. If that is the same then next tie breaker is playoff seed position. If he was seed 4 and you were 5, then the 4 seed would move on based on the tie rules.
