    COMMISSIONER STEALING MONEY

I am in a league with $100 entry fee and $1200 prize pool. Last week there was a trade in my league that did not involve me or the commish ... it was A-Rod and Scott Baker for Josh Beckett and Javier Vasquez

I voiced my opinion on the message board regarding the trade, but did not encourage anybody to veto as long as both teams in the trade were trying to improve their teams needs, even if it didn't look fair on paper. After my message, there were a few teams that vetoed the trade on the message board

The commish seemed upset that I started a commotion and he insulted me, so I insulted him back. After an exchange of insults, the commish locked all of my access to the league (trade, roster changes, add/drop, message board, email league, etc). A few members of the league voluntarily urged the commish on the message board to restore me in the league, as I did not obstruct the game in any way for me to be kicked out. The commissioner has ignored any pleas from league members to restore me in the league

I feel that if the commish can't handle a round of trash talk which he initiated himself, then he should block me from posting on the message board (which I still feel is an abuse of power), but he has no right to take my entry fee and prevent me from playing the game

I emailed Yahoo Sports a few times, but all I received was a series of automated responses that did not specifically pertain to the issue I am dealing with, and basically Yahoo cant interfere in private league matters after the draft has been conducted

I am temporarily withholding the commissioners name and information in case he comes to his senses and restores me in the league. In the meantime, I will greatly appreciate any help or suggestions on how to deal with this matter

I can no longer dispute my entry fee via PayPal since 45 days passed since the payment. I can file a complaint with different government consumer protection agencies that deal with online fraud, though none of that will actually restore me in the league

Does anybody have any other recommendations? Thanks for your time!

    • Not 100% on this, but isn't there someway PayPal can give you his personal information? I know it sounds odd, just trying to help.

Can't trust anyone in the world.

    • get the rest of the league to vote on the issue. and if the other guy should still be commish.

      • 5 members voted to have me reinstated in the league, and addressed how banning me from the league had a negative effect on the entire league as a whole

Nobody voted in favor of keeping me locked from the league

The commissioner has ignored all the posts, emails, and comments from myself and the 5 other members who have asked for my reinstatement

The other teams who did not speak up have either not said anything out of fear that their money will be stolen, or a few of those teams have me coming up right on their schedule and would rather play a phantom team and have a bye week instead of asking for my reinstatement, but im sure those teams will complain later on when there are playoff implications and my phantom team is disrupting the competitive balance of the league

    • your comish thinks he is OBAMA.The chosen one!!!

      • I agree that sending $100 over the computer to a stranger was the stupid thing for me to do, but I enjoy playing the game and took $100 chance b/c I knew the league would be more competitive with $1200 in the prize pool

I am ready to take my $100 loss, but Im not ready to give up the fight and let this scumbag get away with it

Something has to be done. I posted this guys email address after patiently waiting for 5 days to in case he would restore me, but strangely this thread died down after I posted his name and email

I am hoping that a couple of emails with a comment or 2 from anonymous yahoo members who are not in our league would do the trick

I appreciate all the help I am getting. Once again, here is the info of the commissioner who took my entry fee and locked me from playing in the league

I am not a member of myspace or any other social networks, but if anybody who has myspace can drop a line on his myspace comments, that would be awesome for all his friends to know what kind of scammer he is. Thanks

      His name is David Gentry
Yahoo user name : MBIII MVP

He is a 24 year old male from Nottingham, Midlands
      United Kingdom

This is the information I have regarding the commissioner who took my entry fee and locked me from playing in the league

      • I've been to Nottingham before. Ran into a bunch of drunks. Never play fantasy with foreigners who don't appreciate baseball. Especially inbreeds like this one from Sherwood Forest. All they really know is soccer anyhow. To the last they hate our sports and openly say so. Cricket sucks in reality, and so do all British organized sports. Only Irish sports are good over there, like hurling. They are jealous of our sports, but they don't understand them one iota, nor to they try. This behavior does not shock me one iota. It could happen here too sure, but its almost a certainty by design here with the likes of a 24 year old Notty in question. You must choose your freinds more wisely Luke if you want the powers of the force to remain strong within you.

    • Im not sure if fantasy sports would be considered the same as sports betting. I would think that its more of a strategic game or contest than just placing a bet, even though a lot of things are out of your control

Also, if it is illegal, then why would Yahoo have "Dues" as a section on the menu on every league home page (next to scores and setting)

    • Hey! Send me $100 and I'll take care of it for you.

    • I would post his name and email on this website and warn people about him. Even if he reinstates you he kept you from your team and that could end up costing you the season anyway. I would thn find out where he lives and pay him a little visit. If anything you shoudl get your $100 back and bounce on the league. after that garbage you will have to walk on eggshells all season.

No offense but if you did not know this guy that was a really stupid thing to do. Give someone $100. Have you called paypal? Have you called your bank? Just cause it's 45 days it does not mean they can't do something about it. You woudl be surprise what management has the ability to do and if you threaten them by writing to the better business beureu I bet they work it to get your $100 back. Thats not a big loss to them and if you use them regularly they do want to create custoemr satisfaction. Believe me i work for an online company that does this stuf all the time.

      • Actually you should dispute the transfer of funds with your bank and not papypal. most banks have 60-90 days fraud prevention .

    • slap him in the face

    • i don't know if yahoo is going to do anything. that's just a pure scumbag move though.

    • NEVER:
join a custom league w/ ppl you don't know
especially w/ money involved w/ ppl you don't know

      JOIN:
      public leagues for fun
want money involved,do it w/ your FRIENDS or CO-WORKERS

      tough lesson to learn,move on.
