good list to choose from. crawford is no longer an elite player. while lee is good, quality 1B's are always available. alexei ramirez is still too much of an unknown. keep the others.

First 4: 1B M-Cab, SS Reyes, SP Peavy, SP Lincecum. Those are basically no-brainers... the elite of the elite in your lineup. The bats are a plus power hitter who gets average, and an amazing basestealer at a thin position. Those pitchers soak up all 4 SP cats (W, K, ERA, WHIP), and are indispensible.

Remaining: OF Quentin, OF Beltran, OF Crawford, 2B Alexei Ramirez, and 1B Derrek Lee. Lee is gone; you've already got M-Cab. Alexei is lower-tier than some of these names, but you have to consider that he's a solid value at another thin position. Beltran stands out the most - some inconsistency, but overall very solid. I'd pass on Quentin, he's not established enough yet and he's got the injury thing going.

Your 6th pick basically comes down to Ramirez or Crawford. Crawford is the upside pick... higher ceiling, and with Reyes/Crawford you dominate SB. However, he's struggled recently... and you already have an OF on your roster. One who does swipe a few bags. I'm tempted to put Ramirez in there, even though he's a much lower value player from a purely objective standpoint.

      So:

      SS Reyes
      1B M-Cab
      SP Peavy
      SP Lincecum
      OF Beltran
2B Ramirez (or possibly OF Crawford)

You'll do well. Nice work assembling a team. If you can, trade your extra guys for higher draft picks next year.

      nice group to select from.

      my rankng in order:
      jose reyes
      miguel cabrera
      timmy lincecum
      jake peavy
      carlos beltran
      carl crawford
      carlos quinton
rest not close. well, that is my ranking based on career stats, positions, 2008 stats, and age. now the question is who to keep. here i tend to go with many who perfer the reliabilty of hitters over pitchers so i would drop peavy altho he is outstanding.
reyes may add 25 hr ro his sb and overall hitting. cabrera should in his second al season explod to a top production level. lincecum has been so good. peavy is as good as timmy just a little older. beltran is still at an age where his hr could rebound. crawford had a down year in 08 but his age is where many see the hr finally come. quentin is so good in 08 it is hard to overlook him altho 09 is still a challenge for him.
