Commissioner Corner Message Board
They approved the following trade in my Pro League after 9 of the 10 teams protested the trade (including 1 of managers that agreed to the trade). They allowed the 10th place team, who is 1-9 and completely out of the playoff picture, to trade away his top 3 players (DeSean, Decker, and Leveon Bell) to the 1st place team for Forte and Tony G. Here is what their lineups looked like before the trade:
QB - Tom Brady
RB - Lacy, Bell, Rashad Jennings
WR - Desean, Decker, Harry Douglas, Stevie Johnson, Marvin Jones
TE - Clay
QB - Manning
RB - AP, Forte, Vereen, Fred Jackson
WR - Mike Wallace, Jennings, Denarius Moore, Harvin
TE - Vernon Davis, Tony G
Anyways, I needed to vent about how stupid yahoo is. It's one thing if it's a free league but I put $100 into it. F___ Y___ Yahoo.
I don't think this trade is quite as bad as you're making it out to be. Forte is the best player in the deal and neither team is very strong at WR although Jackson and Decker are clearly the best and going to the first place team.
After reading all the post, it seems like you are more upset with the position of the teams, than the trade being bad itself. If it was a 9th and 10th place team, I don't see you getting as upset, but because it involves a first place team, you are #$%$ about it. Im not saying it is a great trade for the last place team, but he did get some value out of it by improving 2 positions. You even made the comment about them bragging about finishing in 7th, thereby giving the possibility of improving. That being said, the trade should go through.
For those of you commenting on the Commissioner... Yahoo IS the commissioner. This is a $100 Pro League. Yahoo "experts" have the final say if a trade goes through. I guess they took the day off on this one. This will be the last year I play under Yahoo.
My advice, is to remove your Commissioner next year. And from the sounds of it, it shouldn't be that hard to do. I am removing myself from the league I have participated in the last two years and am taking most of the other managers with me. When his league falls apart, he will know why.
I think it's a bad trade when you put it into context. The 10th place team is clearly giving up the better talent in this deal. I don't see where it benefits him at this point if he is in last place. There are no draft picks or future compensation which makes the deal worthwhile. Matter of fact it would be an even worse deal if he was in contention. No way I'm making that deal unless I have 4 stud WRs and no RB's at all !
Desean Jackson WR1
Eric Decker -WR2 or WR3
Leveon Bell - RB1
Tony Gonzalez - TE2 and Matt Forte - RB1
Because he is in 10th place he is not allowed to trade?
First place team gives up RB and TE for WR's. 10th place gives up WR's to improve at TE and RB.
9 out of 10 teams protest this? I recommend disabling trades in your league then if this is considered that outrageous.

What is the 10th place team getting out of making this trade? The bragging rights of finishing in 7th place? Also, his starting WRs would be Harry Douglas, Stevie Johnson, and Marvin Jones. Wow, what a great receiving corp!?!?!? Also, do you really think Tony G. is that great of an upgrade? Who knows how much he will play the rest of the season.
I feel you on this one. As a commish, you have to make sure private leagues stay fair since you have friends and even family participate sometimes. And when one team tanks and gives up, essentially, they tend to want to unload their players to help out another team. This is not always the case, but since the 10th place team didn't look like he needed another RB and basically traded away all of his quality WRs to get one, looks odd. I'd call this cherry pickin' from the information you've provided us with. And when the majority of the league voted it down, that's the last straw. It should've been stopped. The commish does have the power to reverse this, even now, i belive. They need to make it right. These two managers of the teams know one another?
