Yahoo needs to do something about the waiver glitch they have this year. In leagues that utilize the Weekly Waivers rules, players are released to FA before waiver claims are processed. So all you have to do is be awake at 3 AM to add a player as a free agent & some time later (around 4:30 or so) claims are processed.
I disagree with those suggesting this isn't a major glitch. Say I want to pick up player X. I can wait till 3 am if he becomes a free agent great I didn't have to sacrifice my waiver position (Advantage!) otherwise I put in my waiver claim at the last minute knowing that I actually need to use it. There is another case (I haven't tried it so I don know how it would play out) where I at 3:25 am cancel my waiver claim for a player. Does anyone know what happens then (if I am the only person who put in a claim for him)? Does he instantly become a free agent? If so it would give me the ability to reserve a player that I wouldn't use my waiver position to grab, assuming everyone else doesn't think they are waiver worthy (maybe my preferred kicker of def).

Wrong. If you wait until then to put in the waiver claim, you will be too late as someone else has already claimed him.
Also it would be too late to cancel your claim as it has already been awarded to you.
Still no advantage
Allow me to explain how this works.
Players 1-10 have waiver claims.
At 3:00am players 11-infinity become free agents and can be picked up anytime between 3:00am until players go on waivers the following weekend.
At 4:30 or so the waiver claims for players 1-10 are processed.

So you mean to tell me that if Marshawn Lynch gets hurt on Sunday & I have the number 1 waiver priority in my league; put a claim in for Christine Michael & someone with a lower priority sets his alarm to wake up at 3 AM to pick him up as a free agent there's no advantage in that? Respectfully, I think you may need to reassess your thinking.
