I just started a 10 team league this year and decided to continue it next year. It was basically set up as yahoo standard 1QB, 2RB, 3WR 1TE K DEF with a Flex spot added (RB & WR) only and 2 extra bench spots. Now since I'm doing it next year I wanted to add and subtract a few things to spruce things up. I am looking for advice & opinions. This is the idea so far after talking with a few people in the league. I have a feeling there is this type of format out already and would definitely love to hear your thoughts.
2 QB's
2 WR
2 RB
1 TE
1 K
1 DEF
1 Flex (WR,TE,RB)
At first what was suggested was to get rid of a WR slot and add a flex to play all positions. With that idea, I added the extra QB slot. I figure it would open up the draft and let some RB's and WR's slide down a little. Maybe keep the normal bench slots?
Then decided to add the PPR 0.5 per catch to spice up the WR and RB's. What's your opinion. I've been playing FF for a decade but only yahoo standard. Old school. How's the draft strategy shake up? Should I add or subtract any ideas to create a fun and competitive league?-

Don't like 2 QB's either. I added a ppr of .25 this year and it helped balance the WR and RB and even TE scored more than some RB's this year. Add a WR/TE flex and a bench.
And givet he D/St every possible opportunity to score. My D/ST in week 16 scored 44 points. It makes a D S/T more than just an after thougt and real part of the game..
I tweak my scoring every year and added ppr this year and realize that giving the same PPR for rushes as receptions was a bad so that will change. But here are my settings.

And it was an 8 team...thus the extra bench spots. But that didn't work like I wanted. i had hoped it would encourage trading by reducing the # of FA, it didn't So next year I am going to 10 teams and probably reduce the bench. I like the benches so people can use them to hold onto injured players as an injury spot. good luck

I like it except for the 2 QBs, kind of like having to rely on one guy, more pressure but that's just my opinion. Also like the 0.5 PPR, makes the RBs that can catch more valuable. Would definitely keep it at a 10 team league at most, two 5 team divisions (I like divisions). Once again, just my opinion.

Thanks for the help and ideas Robert and John. I've talked to a few managers about the new ideas. Everyone is onboard with a PPR addition. The 2nd QB is still iffy. We have a whole year to get this league more exciting. Everyone's thoughts and opinions are definitely welcomed.
