I have a team that is 8-3 in my league, and a team that is 7-4 in my league. The team that is 8-3 is seeded 3rd, and the team that is 7-4 is seeded 2nd. They are in different divisions. Is this correct? Why would the team with the worse record be seeded higher?

    • I'm guessing the division winners are awarded the top seeds and the team that's 8-3 is behind another team within their division. Therefor, as the division leader in the other division, the 7-4 team receives the #2 seed.

I know it's complicated to understand as there has never been a situation in the NFL where a team with a better record was seeded below a division winner.
