Run DMC Drop option...fair to change it?

Ethical dilemma here. This guy in our league is 6th place, 2 games out of 4th for the playoffs. He knows he needs to win NOW. He has the injury bug and wants to add some waiver guys he likes.

Thus, he has asked me (commissioner) to drop the "CANNOT DROP" tag off of Darren McFadden. I personally don't have a problem with it regardless of who is commish, as I've seen it done in many types of fantasy league...BUT...the problem is I (commissioner) have the #1 waiver. And of course as the 2nd place team I'd LOVE to stash Run DMC for a roster spot.

    Sticky situation, eh?

    • I thought we beat this dog to death once?

    • Since you've posted the question again in this forum, let's start over.

So here, you make it clear that you have no problem with making the change...BUT...you then say this

"BUT...the problem is I (commissioner) have the #1 waiver. And of course as the 2nd place team I'd LOVE to stash Run DMC for a roster spot".

How could it be any clearer that the main reason you don't want to make the requested change...despite the fact you say you "don't have a problem with it"....is that it would hurt YOU! You want to stash McFadden...and if you honor his request...he gets him...not you! And there's nothing wrong with that! You shouldn't lose your waiver priority! And the 2nd reason you don't want to make the change (a reason you expressed in another forum...but somehow left out in this one) is that the rest of the league would be #$%$! And rightly so!

So I don't really know why you're posting this...and what you're wanting anyone to say. Making mid-stream corrections just because someone asks you to is always a BAD MOVE. You keep the same rules throughout the season...period. It's obvious that if you don't honor the request...it's not because you believe that sticking with the rules is the right thing to do...but because in this case...it would hurt you...and help your opponent.

We can tell you the right thing to do...what we can't do is provide "good character" you. You have to have that on your own.
