Commissioner Corner Message Board
I've commished for 5 years now, and this is my first big problem. Team 1 is in the playoff hunt and Team 2 is eliminated. The league vetoed the trade sending WR Colston, RB McFadden, and DE Watt to team1 and team2 getting WR Lloyd, S Wilson, DT Mebane. After the trade was vetoed, it took just 5 minutes for both sides to get a deal done through free agency. (League settings have waivers turned off until next week's games begin) I'm leaning towards nullifying these moves...Anyone else have similar experience or thoughts?
You turned off the waivers? Then it's a free for all! Cut Throat. Smart moves on their parts. You change settings like that willy nilly? Then live with it when someone plays the game better than you.

I was going for Cut Throat as you say, to increase competition and interest. Half the league are veterans, half just started playing fantasy the last few years, and are new to this. Some made dumb drops in the past which I thought should be free from waivers...finders keepers. So I didn't expect them to go up in arms when their veto was circumvented, and I surely didn't expect to see collusion although my rules opened the door for it. The moves they made will stand, and I can't please everybody.
So you are saying they both dropped their 3 players, and then picked them up off Free Agents?
Totally legal since you set your league up that way. You'd think with 5 years of Commish experience, you would know its best for dropped players to go to waivers
