Commissioner Corner Message Board
We are having some discussion in our league about why the Baltimore DST was not scored with a TD when the punter ran in for a TD on the fake field goal attempt? Is this correct scoring or will it change in stat corrections?
There will be no stat correction for the punter rushing touchdown as indicated by Yahoo's help articles. The only way to have points included would be through commissioner point adjustment, but then you would have to consider every occurance prior to this fake punt (such as GB fake fg).

This article will explain how scoring is awarded on trick plays such as fake field goals and punts.
Fake field goals and punts are scored as offensive plays.
These are not considered special teams plays, and points are not awarded to the team defense/special teams on these plays.
The individual players involved in the play would receive the points earned for their actions, if they are in the starting roster for your team.
It was an offense play. The only way to get any points from it is if you had the punter rostered... he would get points for a rusjing touchdown.
We all know this is not possible though... so NO POINTS FOR YOU!
Asking the same question here. Our league setting just states "Defense/Special Teams" TDs. Since that was on a special team play we think it should count as a Special Team TD. That will also decide a contest in our league this week as the team with Baltimore's DEF is down 100-99.
