Commissioner Corner Message Board
So in my league two managers have accepted a trade so that one team gets Philip Rivers for Frank Gore and Joey Flacco. Is this a fair trade?
I say not at all. Also, the guy who WOULD GET Rivers has a stacked team. The guy who GIVES Rivers is in last place.
In my league here are the points so far.
The guy who GIVES UP Rivers currently has....
Chris Johnson 18
R. Bush 18
M. Bush 24
I may veto this myself as commissioner. Let me know your opinions. Thanks
Its a fair trade. Flacco isnt that far behind Rivers IMO and he gets Gore when he is struggling at RB. Obviously, the owner giving up Gore is banking on Gore being a RB2.
The guy needs to trade to make his team better. And a two for 1 deal is just what he needs.
Let the managers manage. Just because they are friends doesnt mean it is an unfair trade.
Just to put a final footnote on this.... The team who got Gore would've had a better week holding onto Rivers and using Michael Bush (who is his top RB).
So yeah, Gore had an amazing week (for Gore), but ultimately the trade helped the guy getting Rivers and the guy with Gore did worse, and still lost.
So there's that.
At first I was against this trade, but the more that I look at it, the more it is looking like a reasonable trade. The team dealing for Rivers is hoping that Gore will rebound this season because the Bush's won't carry his team. In fact, Gore is having a good game today.
As a commish, you should consider vetoing any trade. You made the right call in asking for advice about this trade and also by letting this trade go through.
I wouldn't just had the trophy to the team that received Rivers. The season is still young and you don't know what will happen in the future.
There is nothing wrong with that. He's giving up a premier QB and getting in return a pretty decent QB and a good RB. He currently has a bunch of scrubs as RB's.
Looks like it makes both teams better. I'd be pissed off if a commish blocked that trade.

Seriously? Are you an idiot? The trade went through and I didn't veto it. I posted all this. It was the post that brought this topic back to the top of the list.
Go back to school or something. You are the reason why I brought this topic up, ASKING if I should veto. Some people are not smart.
So this trade went through.
Of course Rivers is in the starting line up for one team. The other team is starting Schaub at QB and threw Gore in the lineup despite not starting, only projected 2 points, and much better FA's in there. I guess you have to make it believable.
As I said before, one person in the league called it highway robbery, and two people who couldn't make the draft this year, but will be back next year called it things I can't say on this board.
And this is my stance... I am the commish and I want a league with integrity and people who know what they're doing, so do the other people who actually pay attention and know what they're doing in my league.
For Rivers you could get a RB who is actually producing. You wait for this week to go by (because Rivers will blow up this week), then you trade him. Fantasy football 101. The last place should have the power when giving up his BEST player.
Thanks for the intelligent comments, and the rest of you need to grow up. The thread was to ASK if I should veto, not telling you I was going to.
