Should I throw last game?
Right now i am in 1st place in my leage. Im ahead by one game and 2nd place has more points than me. Seeds 3 and 4 are already set, and 4 has Tom Brady , and Chris Johnson at StL. Should I throw the last game to avoid playing him in the first round, and take my chances he loses, ? He projects 11 points higher than me that week. This topic is deleted.
I am in an identical situation in my league but not going to do it.
1. for the most part, weekly point rankings don't mean much, especially a 11 point difference.
2. preserving league integrity is priceless; if you don't have it, none of the champions will either.
3. fantasy football karma; a tricky and vicious bitch, right?
I say that it depends if you're in a money league or not. if you are, do whatever you need to do to win, put in a bum lineup, whatever. if you're in a free bragging rights league, i would play my best players every time.
I thought of it too, and I've got $$ up for grabs in my league, but I just said fuck it- I'm just gonna run my players with the most points, nothing smarter I can do. Don't be scared, man, see how good your team really is-put em to the test.
It's all about matchups! Look at the projections for the 3rd place team too. make sure you compare your first round matchup AND your championship matchup(whoever you think will win that other game). if you think throwing this week' game will make it an easier road to the championship, then do it.
I would never throw a game! Any given Sunday. I have:
WR: Andre Johnson
RB: A. Peterson
RB: Chris Johnson
W/R: Ryan Grant
And my record is 7-6 and I am currently the 4th seed. So, any given Sunday...
