The 5 I'm thinking of keeping are:
1. Posey
2. Stanton
3. Strasburg
4. Hamels / Profar
5. Sale
I may keep Profar in lieu of Hamels, but I dunno. I thought about Ellsbury, but he's too much of an injury risk for me. Profar is risky, tho, as I can probably get him in the mid to late rounds, but I really like his upside. -
Keeping Posey is a no-brainer. A catcher that is a MVP candidate is a lock regardless of how you build your team. h2h allows flexibility in building a team for the playoffs. Even teams that specialize in categories (saves, speed, etc.) can be successful.
Look at your roster and determine which players are in the top 75 in baseball and what you gauge their draft positions to be.
1-2nd Posey, Stratsburg,
2-3rd Stanton, Sale,
3-5 Hamel, and Ellsbury
I would take: Stanton, ellsbury, Posey, Sale, and Stratsburg.
Although keeping two outfielders goes against my sensibilities, the way the talents of those two mesh together in either format gives you a chance to be competitive.- 1 Reply to Da Honest Commish
