So I'm in a fantasy baseball league with friends, and I got offered a trade. I'm not really a big baseball fan (or even one at all) so I don't really know much or even know if this is a good trade. Any help would be appreciated !!
I get :
OF - Bryce Harper
P - Cole Hamels
I give :
OF - Drew Stubbs
P - Clayton Kershaw
I'm currently 2nd in the league (somehow). My current team before trade
C - Molina
1B - Adrian Gonzalez
2B - Omar Infante
3B - Alex Rodriguez
SS - Asdrubal Cabrera
OF/UTIL - McCutchen, J.Hamilton, Stubbs, Hunter, M.Brantley, J.Morneu
P - Kershaw, Hanson, Lester, C.J. Wilson, Johan, Dickey, Capuano, Fister
RP - Valverde, Betancourt, Broxton, R.Soriano
Honestly I am going to go against this trade and say not to do it. Kershaw will turn it around with Kemp coming back soon. Hamels is good but Harper is not an all star at all. He does decent but I wouldn't draft him in front of a lot of people
Definitely make the trade.
That's a good deal for you all the way around. Kershaw has been sketchy of late so you could potentially be eliminating a future pitching issue by trading him.
Ironically enough, the two you're getting in the deal had issues against one another not that long ago. Hamels intentionally hit Harper with a pitch.
Kershaw for Hamels is a relative wash, Harper for Stubbs is all based on Harper's potential. Personally I'd decline the offer or get somebody more established instead of Harper (A healthy Nick Markakis comes to mind).
