12 team keeper league, standard cats
With this Hallady/Lee trade my keeper options get a little screwed up. My plan was to offer up Cliff Lee along with Mark Reynolds in a trade to get a Halladay or Lincecum or even Felix. However, now that Lee is in Seattle I think he losses value and my trading partners will lose interest......If I can't make a deal this offseason I have to think up a contingency plan. Please give me some help.
Keep 5 (3 hitters, 2 pitchers)
My final roster
C - Kurt Suzuki
1B - Albert Pujols
2B - Brandon Phillips
3B - Mark Reynolds
3B - Michael Young
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Bobby Abreu
OF - Jayson Werth
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Julio Borbon
SP - Brandon Webb
SP - Javier Vazquez
SP - Robinson Tejeda
SP - James Shields
SP - Cliff Lee (now with Seattle Mariners)
SP - Tim Hudson
SP - JA Happ (now with Toronto Blue Jays, I think?)
SP - Kevin Correia
SP - Matt Cain
SP - Scott Baker
SP - Brett Anderson
RP - Frank Francisco
RP - Mariano Rivera
RP - Rafael Soriano (now with Tampa Bay Rays)
I don't see his value going down at all the Mariners are going to win the west. The Angels have lost to much! Vlad is getting real old.. He's going to a pitchers park! It's Halladay thats the question? hows he going to fair in philly. Toronto was a big ballpark he put up those numbers in. Let the other guy keep Roy, I like your chances.

Haha!! Yeah, clearly I don't know what I'm doing. I mean, I got Braun, Ramirez, and Pujols on my team in the first year of this league.....
If YOU weren't an idiot you'd realize that it's not as easy as Lee and Cain. Brandon Webb is the best pitcher on my team, hands down. I'll have to wait to see how his health is. I'll also have to wait to see the predraft rankings......
Lee's stock is still pretty strong. A top 15 pitcher even in Seattle. I would still try to work that deal. I would propose it like this though: Mark Reynolds and your choice of any pitcher on my team for Halladay. Then let them decide which of your pitchers has the most value. Maybe you will get lucky and they take Webb or Vazquez. Then you could keep Lee and the pitcher you receive. Worst case scenario they take Lee anyway. Good luck!
I don't think Lee looses a whole lot...I would package Reynolds, Lee and Mariano for a top SP like Halladay or Lincicum and Keep SP (halladay or keep Lee) & RP Frank plus Pujols, HanRam and Werth...if it where me.
Does Lee really lose a ton of value? He moves to a park that fantasy pitchers would covet. He does move back to the AL which means he's pitching against better hitting and a DH, but in when he was with Clevland, his numbers were quite solid.
I would expect his value to remain pat.
As for Halladay, he moves to a hitters park in Philly, yet faces much weaker lineups with pitchers hitting nearly every 9th batter and the NL bats just aren't as brutal as AL.
Seems to be pretty solid value for both.
