I'm in the 1st round of our Fantasy playoffs... Head to Head competition.
Well yesterday somehow this guy I'm competing against ended up getting a hold when his player lost the game.
Bobby Seay lost the game last night and somehow he got a hold too ????
How do I find out if someone in the league added a hold to his stats w/o him earning it... Bobby Seay lost the game so he shouldn't gotten a hold. Detroit's game...Sep 8th. 2009. Help
Holds only take into account what the score of the game was when the pitcher entered and when he leaves the game....runners he left on base don't factor into a hold; if he left the game while still leading, then he gets the hold no...and he seperately gets the loss for having those inherited runners to score.
you can get a hold and a loss. If you enter the game in a save situation and leave the game and your team still has the lead you get a hold however if you leave the game and their are men are on base and they score you can get the loss
It's possible for a pitcher to get a hold AND a loss in the same game.
Looking at this particualr game Seay went in in relief of Porcello. He gave up a hit and also hit a batter, so he put two men on base.
But he also got two men out and left after two thirds of an inning with the score still the same. So he gets a hold for that.
He was then relieved by Perry to try to get the final out of the inning. However Perry allowed the two baserunners that Seay put on to score. So those runs were credited to Seay and as it turned out it meant he got the loss.
