i was offered Ubaldo Jimenez for Ryan Doumit in a dynasty league. I have Wieters and have been trying to trade Doumit for awhile. I would like to improve my pitching but im not sure about Jimenez. Should i wait and maybe Doumits value goes up, or pull the trigger now?

    • It depends. Ubaldo Jimenez has great stuff, and has great groundball to flyball and HR/9 ratios. He'll be good in strikeouts and keep the ball down. His downside is his control. If he can get his walks under control, he will be a legitimate ace, and a potential all-star. If he can't get them under control (but keeps them from ruining him), he'll be a good #2 or #3 pitcher (kinda like Carlos Zambrano, but without the temper). I'd say his upside is a Justin Verlander of 2009, his expected is to be like Carlos Zambrano (always a bit overrated, but still useful in fantasy baseball), and his downside is to be like Jonathan Sanchez (too wild to be of much fantasy value, possibly losing his spot in the rotation due to wildness, but with flashes of greatness).

With Doumit, you know what you're gonna get, but Ubaldo is an unknown. It depends on your expectations for Ubaldo on whether or not its a good deal, but a lot of people would take it.
