Is this a good deal that i propesed
i get: hanley and linecum
i give: reyes, beltran, and feliz hernandez
the other dude acceptted this i just have to wait for it to go through
wat do u think
Well I'm not sure... the way I would look at it is that you are recieving a 1 overal pick, and a 16 overal pick... and trading away a 3rd/4th overall pick and a 25th pick, and about a 79th pick
its tough to say
id say its even
I have to disagree with many who posted before and say that I think the trade, in its first form, is not so great for you. I offer the following reasons:
1) I have come up with my own ranking system that places a specific value on each category, with Runs and RBI's receiving a relatively equal score. Long story short, Howard, Hamilton, Wright, Beltran, Teixeira, and Ramirez (in no particular order) all top the list in total team contributions in stadard scoring leagues. Beltran and Ramirez will quite possibly be an even swap by season's end. Or at least too close to make a difference.
2) Reyes. SS is short on quality. If you were trading an outfielder who would contribute something near Reyes' numbers it wouldn't be as big a deal. Instead, the other team is getting one outstanding SS for another, and a top-five player (Beltran) to boot.
3) Felix vs. Lincecum. Discounting Felix's bad outing recently, he has been unhittable. I really think that this year he is undervalued, and his final line could realistically be 12/195/3.38/1.35. And this brings up my final point about Lincecum: Value vs. Ceiling. Let's say Lincecum actually improves on his monster year in 2008: 18/265/2.62/1.17. He would approach 300 K's, with 20 Wins. It will take a lot to improve on his ERA and WHIP. That is one possibility. The other more historically accurate prediction is that his numbers will decline, landing somewhere between his 2007 and 2008 numbers, towards the 2008 side. That would leave him with a line of: 15/225/3.11/1.28
That is not too far from a number of pitchers in the 7-10 room-for-a-mistake Rounds such as King Felix. Value vs. Ceiling. You have little room for error if you draft Lincecum.
The other guy wins out if you trade anything more than Reyes, Felix, and a mid-to-late round OF.
do it in a heart beat. beltran sucks big huevos, and im a met fan. jose, find you are gonna miss it, but hanley is a 5 tool player, gives u steals, hr, walks, avg, the works. now lincecum, hes money. hernandez, hes good no question, but be wary of injuries with him
It looks like a pretty dead even trade to me I gotta say. BUT I would like to see the rest of your team before I can make that call. You pick up THE PREMIERE pitcher who will dominate and come close to 300Ks this year if healthy, while King Felix is still finding his own. What you lose though is 50+ SBs between Reyes(50+) and Beltran(20+) because I don't think Hanley will be running a whole lot this year, I could see him only pulling 20-25SB to be honest, somewhere on par with Beltran. You are also losing a TON of runs scored between Beltran and Reyes. I think it comes down to what you needed most and if you already have those categories covered then you definitely made out by acquiring Lincecum.
